Become a foster

Open your home. Save a life.

Carbon Cat & Dog Rescue has no physical shelter. Every animal rescued depends on someone opening their home and heart.

What fostering means

A temporary home creates a permanent second chance.

Fostering gives an animal a safe, loving place to stay until the right family is found. It creates space for healing, trust, growth, socialization, and preparation for adoption.

Every foster home also makes room for another cat or dog to be rescued.

Foster FAQ

What to expect before you apply.

The rescue works with each foster family to identify a safe, realistic match.

How long will I foster?

Every animal is different. Some may stay only a couple of weeks, while others may need several months before finding their permanent home.

Can I choose what I foster?

Yes. The rescue will work with you to find an animal that fits your experience, lifestyle, and household.

What if I already have pets?

Many foster families have pets of their own. The team will discuss introductions and help determine an appropriate match.

What if I fall in love?

It happens. Foster families often become adopters, and the goal is always the right permanent home for the animal.

Why foster?

Every foster home means another life can be saved.

  • Save animals from overcrowded shelters
  • Give abandoned pets a second chance
  • Help animals prepare for adoption
  • Create room for future rescues
  • Become part of a compassionate community
