Carbon Cat & Dog Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based nonprofit improving the lives of homeless, abandoned, and community animals throughout Carbon County and surrounding areas.

Founded in 2018, Carbon Cat & Dog Rescue began with a simple goal: make a difference for animals with nowhere else to turn. What started with community cats grew into an organization that rescues cats and dogs, supports local families, and partners with neighbors to save lives.
Every animal in the rescue’s care lives in a foster home while waiting for adoption. That personal setting helps volunteers understand each animal’s personality and make more thoughtful adoption matches.

Meet our founder
Tenisha Anderson
Tenisha founded Carbon Cat & Dog Rescue in 2018 after her work helping community cats became a lasting mission for animals across Carbon County.
Her rescue work includes TNVR, adoptions, owner support, public education, bottle babies, emergency cases, fundraising, and the community pet food pantry. Outside the rescue, she is a wife and mother, works full-time in Human Resources, and is pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration.
